I am married with 2 children ages 15, and 4.Four years ago we lost everything we had to a tragic house fire.We had to fight with our insurance company for 3 1/2 years to even rebuild our home.We had replacement cost insurance, which means you don't get a penny for your belongings, until you replace the items.Most things we bought were being stored in our garage until the house got rebuilt.The garage was broken into twice,thus our items to store anew were stolen.We also had to give the construction company that was working on our house, pretty much every penny we got from our personal items to cover repairs that the insurance company would not pay for.Upon calling Red Cross for help they informed us, that their help was for people that need it immediately, not ones that didn't take it to begin with.In the process my husband lost his job, and right behind him I lost mine.Thank God he found another one, but I did not.As if matters could get any worse, last January I had to have an emergency hysterectomy, due to suspected cervicle cancer.Thank God my parents had a rental my family, and I could live in during this time, but we still barely managed to keep from losing the home.We put up a good fight, but had to sell our home when it was put back together,and any profit was used to pay off a few bills, but it wasn't enough to get us back on our feet.My husbands' commute to work is an hour long, and we barely afford the gas money to get him there, and back, much less groceries for our family.I've tried, but there doesn't seem to be any help out there for normal middle class families, that our down on their luck!If there is any organizations out there, I would appreicate hearing about them.
