Natalie Humphreys Bales lives in Liberty, Indiana with her husband (long time sweetheart Brooke) and their beautiful, nearly three year old daughter, Ruby. About a year after Natalie and Brooke welcomed dear Ruby to their family, their world was unjustly changed. Natalie was diagnosed with advanced Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
As a dear friend from Indiana University and sorority life, Natalie's presence as a friend in our young adult lives is irreplaceable, indelible in our minds & hearts, and forever will be influential. Her spirit and enthusiasm was contagious in all that she set out to do. As an a optimistic visionary, strong fighter and devoted, enthusiastic cheerleader, both figuratively and literally, Natalie could not help but touch and positively influence the lives of many.
In learning more about this condition, we very recently learned about the upcoming walk in Chicago. We decided to participate without reservation. We walk in support for Natalie and all that she represents. In a short time, she has impressed upon us character traits that will remain for a lifetime. Although Natalie has lost the abilitiy to walk, we will walk in her stead in appreciation of her as well as for her daughter. It is through this walk and in her daughter that her spirit will continue to remain optimistic, strong and boisterous.
